'WICKED' - Original Broadway Cast Recording

Last night we had a wickedly wonderful time! It was Sarah's 15th birthday, and almost a year ago I got second row seats to WICKED's first run in SLC. We have been looking forward to this for a long time. Gary and I have both seen it in New York and LA, and have shared the music and story with our kids. When the overture started, Sarah and I were already teary! Being so close to the stage really took our breath away. Right after Elpheba's solo, 'Defying Gravity' at the end of the first act, Sarah put her hand on her heart and exclaimed, 'I'm overwhelmed!' She is too darling for words. Parker loved Glinda...she was brilliantly hilarious. It was an evening we'll all remember for a long time.

And as I'm typing this post, I just received a text from my family and friends who are there right now...and President Monson is there! We missed him by one night! I know he will love it too!

'Smile' - Tony Bennett

We were short on time for FHE last night,
so we watched this 15 minute clip on youtube entitled, 'Validation.'
It prompted a great discussion. We loved it...hope you do too!

'Bunny Hop' - pick your favorite version

Parker and his cute cousin, Kate
Benji and another cute cousin, Olivia
The mama and her grown chicks...Gary, Julie and Scott
Easter week-end was very fun. We traveled to Grammy and Grandpa Judd's, to be with all of Gary's family for the week-end. Here are the highlights:

1. The easter egg hunt in the dark with flashlights. (Thanks to my neighborhood friends for the great idea to keep the older kids excited and involved!) The money in a few eggs may have had something to do with it too!

2. Going to church together to the singles ward where Grandpa Judd serves.

3. A beautiful sunny Sunday.

4. Sarah getting her first driving lesson from her cousins.

5. Dark chocolate Cadbury eggs. Yum.

'Popcorn Popping' - CS #242

'I looked out the window and what did I see?' Our flowering plum trees in the sunshine looked so beautiful today. I ran out to snap a few pictures to send to one of our missionary sons, who has always loved these trees. He tended to the birds who made their nests and laid their speckled eggs, and he could somehow always manage to snap a picture of the baby birds without upsetting the mother. I hope it's spring in Pennsylvania too.

'G.N.O.' - Hannah Montana

This afternoon, I found myself grateful for my kids' good friends. It's one of Sarah's friend's birthdays, which provided a great excuse for 14 and 15 year old girls to dress up and act crazy at the Hannah Montana movie opening. It's funny - they were celebrating getting older, but acting MUCH younger, which just made me laugh at them. Who wants them growing up too fast anyway? I was the designated driver, so picture all of us in the burb, with the windows down and the stereo cranked, and girls hanging out the windows, waving to everyone and singing at the top of their lungs. As we pulled into the parking lot, there was a dad with a large group of little girls. They all stared wide-eyed at the sight of us and I could only imagine what he was whispering to them. Who cares?! Good, clean fun in my book!
